A correction

Send the article URL, the sentence you believe is wrong, and the source that shows it, cited by publication, date and page. A citation is what lets us check a claim instead of trading assertions. Substantive corrections are noted on the article itself, with the date, under our corrections policy.

A source or a lead

If you know of a published claim worth answering, or have a periodical reference we have not used, send the citation. We read the archive; we do not expect you to do the work for us. What helps is the publication, the date and the page.

Right of reply

Anyone we grade, or answer, may respond at any time. Responses are published alongside the piece unedited. Nobody has to agree with us to be heard here.

What we do not do

We do not take advertising, we do not run third-party tracking on this site, and we do not ask anyone to trust our word for what a source says. If a claim here cannot be checked against a page, send us the page and we will fix it.
